Hurtful Things to Say

Hurtful things you like to say, tear me apart in every way,
Think before you speak to me,
Because i will not let it be.
I treat you nice, and show some slack.
But there's times i will strike back.
Even though you are my relative,
if you want love, be sure to give,
for i am sensitive just like you i have feelings and can hurt too.

"I AM"

I am the riding bicycle in the mountainous, lonely field
I wonder when will i hit the next curve
I hear the singing birds far up in the sky
I see the sun rising up from behind
I want to get across the flowing, shinning river
I am the riding bicycle in the mountainous, lonely field

I pretend to know where I'm heading
I feel the wet and fresh breeze behind my neck
I touch the green, glowing grass
I worry about falling
I cry when I can't stand up
I am the riding bicycle in the mountainous, lonely field

I understand the ride is exhausting, and long
I say I can keep going even with obstacles or struggles in my way
I dream that I get to the end of the ride
I try to keep going no matter what
I hope for success like a bird with out walls
I am the riding bicycle in the mountainous, lonely field.

The Congressional Medal of Honor

Many want it but only few earn it. The Congressional Medal of Honor is earned in a very unique way. Many people might have different meanings to it but it is given only to the best. This award gives it all and has so many things to say about the recipient. Winning the Congressional Medal of Honor is winning it all.

The Congressional Medal of Honor is earned by distinguishing yourself from all the others as a member of the armed forces and making a deed to help others without hesitating. It means putting your life on thin ice to rescue others. This award is given to someone who went beyond their call of duty. It is earned by uniqueness in their act of heroism. It is a challenge to make a quick decision. It's award by making a difference.

The Congressional Medal of Honor symbolizes outstanding service to me. It is being loyal to your country. It is awarded to someone destinct from all the others. The Medal of Honor is awarded to those who secured American families while being away from their loved ones. It shows patriotism, it means recognition to your great sacrifice and dedication for your efficient labor.

"Sometimes I think it was easier to win the Congressional Medal of Honor than it was to wear it". This statement means to be humble, noble, and modest. Some recipients might think that there's other soldiers that might have earned the award but didn't get it. They might think this because they are humble. Wearing this medal means a lot, a president once said that he would have prefered to win the medal than being the president. Being humble sometimes makes the recipients think twice about desrving the medal.

The Medal of Honor brings inspiration to the American society. It challenges every american to make a difference and to show bravery by helping others. Having this award says everything without speaking. The medal shows the many quialities of the person wearing it.

Hero to all..

Richard Pittman
SGT, U.S Marine Corps
Vietnam July 07, 1966
Citation: While Sergeant Pittman's company was conducting an operation along a narrow jungle trail, the leading elements suffered numerous casualties when they came under fire from a well concealed and numerically superior enemy force. Hearing calls for more firepower, Sergeant Pittman exchanged his rifle for a machinegun and several belts of ammunition, left the relative safety of his platoon, and unhesitatingly rushed forward to aid his comrades. Under intense enemy fire at point blank range during his advance, he returned fire, silencing the enemy position. As he continued to forge ahead to aid members of the leading platoon, he again came under fire from two automatic weapons which he promptly destroyed. Learning there were additional wounded Marines 50 yards further along the trail, he braved a withering hail of enemy fire to continue onward. As he reached the position where the leading Marines had fallen, he was confronted with a bold frontal attack by 30 to 40 enemy. He calmly established a position in the middle of the trail and raked the advancing enemy with devastating machinegun fire, then picked up an enemy submachine gun and, together with a pistol seized from a fallen comrade, continued his lethal fire until the enemy force had withdrawn.
I would be honored to talk to him and thank him for being a hero and sacrificing his life without thinking twice. He was brave and gave his all. Thanks to him and many other soldiers that i would also consider heroes we have rights, freedom and many other privileges that others don't get to have. I would love to right to him and tell him how much i admire him for doingwhat he did.

"I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American Dream"

It was important to the audience back then because African American had to go through a lot. That meant segregation, discrimination, and they were treated like they didn't belong there. Even though they went through all these they still had hope and dreams that one day they were going to be free and treated like everyone else.

It is important to me because, I can relate to this now. Even though i have a lot of potential and dreams i want to achieve in life there's a limit. I immigrated with my parents when i was about three years old. But i know i will never give up because we never know what could happen tomorrow. I have hope that one day I wont be required to have documents to show I don't come from Mars and will be able to accomplish my dreams.

What happens to a dream deffered...

Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? or fester like a sore and then run?

Does it stink like rotten meat?

or crust and sugar over like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags like a heavy load

or does it explode?

What happens to hope when there's a limit...

Does it fade away like your breath on a window?

or does it dissapear like the smoke in the air?

does it keep going like the stream of a river

or do you feel like the world is against you like a

lion chasing a cat

Maybe it can be taken away like and illusion in a dream

or does it stay strong forever?

I decided to write about hope beacause when there's
a limit because I've seen many students with the greatest potential
on earth, that are very smart studetns and have many dreams in life and want
to success but there's a limit, a wall. Maybe they immmigrated here and
don't have the persmission to work. Do they give up or keep dreaming?

"What is the American Dream?"

The American Dream is not only having a house and a fortune. They American Dream according to my parents, is to have the things you value the most with you, and how hard you have to work to get to them. My mom and dad came to the U.S to offer us a better life. Unfortunately in Mexico the economy is not the best. It is really hard to get a job that pays you enough to mantain a family. According to them they saw many people struggling with their families and she didn't want the same for us. She heard that The United States offered many opportunities to work, and so they migrated here. They decided to move with the purpose os making the American Dream come true.

When my parents moved here they started working we lived about six years with my grandparents but then my dad saw that he was being payed enough to get our own apartment, and so we did. He knew right then that our American Dream was taking its first steps. So we had our own apartment for about three years when my parents decided to buy a house. After a long process they finally did. That ment we had already completed part of the American Dream. But my parents realized that the real meaning for it was the persuit of happiness. They noticed that being happy was really what mattered the most and that there is nothing that can buy the smile of the ones you love. Therefore, the meaning to my parents id the persuit of happiniess with the things or ones that you value the most, that is the true meaning of the American Dream.
