Many want it but only few earn it. The Congressional Medal of Honor is earned in a very unique way. Many people might have different meanings to it but it is given only to the best. This award gives it all and has so many things to say about the recipient. Winning the Congressional Medal of Honor is winning it all.
The Congressional Medal of Honor is earned by distinguishing yourself from all the others as a member of the armed forces and making a deed to help others without hesitating. It means putting your life on thin ice to rescue others. This award is given to someone who went beyond their call of duty. It is earned by uniqueness in their act of heroism. It is a challenge to make a quick decision. It's award by making a difference.
The Congressional Medal of Honor symbolizes outstanding service to me. It is being loyal to your country. It is awarded to someone destinct from all the others. The Medal of Honor is awarded to those who secured American families while being away from their loved ones. It shows patriotism, it means recognition to your great sacrifice and dedication for your efficient labor.
"Sometimes I think it was easier to win the Congressional Medal of Honor than it was to wear it". This statement means to be humble, noble, and modest. Some recipients might think that there's other soldiers that might have earned the award but didn't get it. They might think this because they are humble. Wearing this medal means a lot, a president once said that he would have prefered to win the medal than being the president. Being humble sometimes makes the recipients think twice about desrving the medal.
The Medal of Honor brings inspiration to the American society. It challenges every american to make a difference and to show bravery by helping others. Having this award says everything without speaking. The medal shows the many quialities of the person wearing it.

Hero to all..
Richard Pittman
SGT, U.S Marine Corps
Vietnam July 07, 1966
Citation: While Sergeant Pittman's company was conducting an operation along a narrow jungle trail, the leading elements suffered numerous casualties when they came under fire from a well concealed and numerically superior enemy force. Hearing calls for more firepower, Sergeant Pittman exchanged his rifle for a machinegun and several belts of ammunition, left the relative safety of his platoon, and unhesitatingly rushed forward to aid his comrades. Under intense enemy fire at point blank range during his advance, he returned fire, silencing the enemy position. As he continued to forge ahead to aid members of the leading platoon, he again came under fire from two automatic weapons which he promptly destroyed. Learning there were additional wounded Marines 50 yards further along the trail, he braved a withering hail of enemy fire to continue onward. As he reached the position where the leading Marines had fallen, he was confronted with a bold frontal attack by 30 to 40 enemy. He calmly established a position in the middle of the trail and raked the advancing enemy with devastating machinegun fire, then picked up an enemy submachine gun and, together with a pistol seized from a fallen comrade, continued his lethal fire until the enemy force had withdrawn.
I would be honored to talk to him and thank him for being a hero and sacrificing his life without thinking twice. He was brave and gave his all. Thanks to him and many other soldiers that i would also consider heroes we have rights, freedom and many other privileges that others don't get to have. I would love to right to him and tell him how much i admire him for doingwhat he did.
